I must be running out of time. What am I doing on this Louisiana Saturday night?

Faye slipped into Sin's stall, quiet as a cat. She was greeted by warm breath on her face, as the tall mare whuffed kindly to her. She smiled, and flipped over a bucket, taking a seat in front of the palomino. Sunkissed vixa lowered her dial, looking closely at the girl, whickering softly, comfortingly. Everything would be alright. Why didn't she see that? Big brown eyes looked over the mare, searching for the answers to questions she was afraid to ask. This was a long way from Louisiana, a long way from everyone who had hurt her, who had doubted her. She had always been such a bright, ambitious girl, but the events of the past year had done more damage than she could ever have imagined. Her father had meant everything to her, especially after her mom left. He had been one of the greatest trainers of his age, sending more winners onto the track than anyone would have believed. It was he who had introduced her to horses, he who had encouraged her. When she turned sixteen she had gotten a job at the track, exercising his horses. She was not short enough to be a jockey, though she only stood 5'2". But she craved the excitement of the track. She'd watch every race she could. That was how she'd found Sin. She got a job using Sin as a lead pony, good exercise when they weren't busy learning dressage. Life was great, or at least...for a while. But now her father was gone. She tried going back to her old life, but everyone treated her like a burden, like a hassle they didn't want to deal with. She needed out, so she came here. She looked up from her thoughts at the honey mare, who had stood patiently while she thought. She pulled herself up, and gave the horse a good pat one the shoulder. "I think we both need a ride..." She grabbed a bridle from the tackroom and slipped it over the mare's head. She lead her out into the isle, and searched for something to use as a step. After finding something, she swung herself over, and nudged the mare forward.
